Lafayette's Current Booking Window
Start at the LPSO Offender Information page. It sends searches to the 365Labs Community Portal. Its Recent Bookings filter covers the prior 72 hours. That is the closest official route for a same-day-first search. The window is not a strict midnight-to-now feed. Older LPSO corrections text cited 48 hours instead, so follow the current offender-information wording whenever the two descriptions clash.
The window tracks people processed at Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. Arrests by Lafayette Police, Youngsville Police, Broussard Police, Louisiana State Police, or the sheriff can all land there. Not every arrest does. A citation, an immediate release, a transfer, a protected record, or a booking in another jurisdiction can leave no result. Arrest location and booking place are separate facts.
Search Lafayette's Newest Arrests
Search controls may sit behind an account sign-in. Use a broad search when a name's spelling is unclear. A focused search works better once a booking number is known. Follow the current LPSO steps in this order:
- Open the LPSO Offender Information page, then follow its current link to the 365Labs portal.
- Register or sign in if prompted, and select “Lookup Inmates.”
- Check “Recent Bookings.” Leave First Name, Last Name, and Booking No. blank to view the full 72-hour result.
- For one person, enter a last name or booking number. Remove extra fields and retry if an exact-name search fails.
- Compare the booking number, arresting agency, and date before treating two records as a match.
Bookings age out of Recent Bookings after 72 hours. The person may still be housed at LPCC. To check that, run the current-inmate search with the Recent Bookings box unchecked. The reverse happens too, since someone can appear newly booked and then leave the housed list after release. The Lafayette Parish recent-arrests hub explains the wider record path when booking, custody, and court results disagree. The official doorway sits at the LPSO corrections source.
This is the official doorway to custody and booking instructions. It does not display a gallery of people.
Lafayette Recent Booking Fields
The portal record and the Daily Arrest Report are different products. For a fast portal check, expect a booking identifier, entered identity data, charge and custody information, and possibly a booking image. Every field is not guaranteed. LPSO says so plainly. During the JADES-to-365Labs move, it warned that date of birth, race, height, weight, and hair color may be missing. Expect gaps, not full dossiers.
| Field | How to read it |
|---|---|
| Name | Use the source spelling; aliases and data-entry differences may affect a search. |
| Booking number | The strongest key for comparing the portal, VINE, a request, and later court research. |
| Date and time | Do not assume arrest time and completed LPCC booking time are identical. |
| Charges | Reported charges at intake, which may later be reduced, refused, or dismissed. |
| Custody or bond data | Time-sensitive status or release conditions, not a sentence or verdict. |
| Booking photo | May appear, but no image is guaranteed for every web record. |
Never patch a blank field with a lookalike name. Unofficial images deserve no trust either. LPSO calls portal information informational rather than an official public document, and warns that identity data may lack fingerprint or criminal-history verification.
Lafayette's JADES Portal Transition
LPSO states that 365Labs replaced the old JADES application. The change goes deeper than a name. Search instructions, account access, field availability, city links, and photo expectations can all differ. An old bookmark may still land on JADES. Local agency pages can keep outdated directions even while correctly naming LPCC as the likely booking destination.
Youngsville Police shows the pattern. Its jail-information page still describes a JADES route. The sheriff's current instructions point to 365Labs instead, which is where parish searches now belong. Broussard Police materials carry legacy jail-navigation language too. Such pages still help confirm that municipal arrests may enter the parish booking system. They should not override LPSO's current portal directions.
When an older instruction fails, go back to the official LPSO Offender Information page rather than hunting for a copy of the retired interface. Re-enter the search in 365Labs and try both the Recent Bookings filter and the current housed list. Allow for the documented transition gaps. Missing demographics do not mean the record belongs to someone else, and a missing result is not proof that no arrest occurred.
The transition also explains uneven photos. A booking photograph may appear in one official interface and be absent from another. Treat the booking number, agency, and date as the matching keys, and request an official record when identity or timing must be settled. Never substitute a visually similar face for missing data.
Why Lafayette Arrests Can Lag
An arrest is not an instant web entry. It starts a chain. The person has to be transported first. LPCC booking then runs through identity checks, property inventory, photographs, and charge entry before the portal refreshes. Citations and diversions skip that path. Someone released early, or held in another parish, may never appear in the expected Lafayette Parish booking list. The live portal has no guaranteed weekend or holiday publication schedule. That lag is normal.
Use custody clues to narrow the search. A newly processed person fits the recent-bookings filter. Someone still held days later belongs on the current housed list. A transfer into state custody moves the person to the Louisiana Department of Public Safety and Corrections locator. Federal, immigration, and out-of-state custody use their own systems. "Not found" can mean the wrong channel, not no arrest.
Note: Treat the arrest time, the completed booking time, and the moment a web result first appears as three separate events.
Lafayette Arrest App Cross-Check
The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office app advertises "Arrests and Mugshots" and "Who's in Jail." That makes it a handy official cross-check. It helps when a 365Labs result lacks an image, or when a phone beats a web page. The store description has limits, though. That does not prove identical fields. A photo for every person is not promised either. The official Apple App Store listing documents both the arrest and jail functions.
The app is a solid alternate interface. Still, the LPSO record remains the thing to verify. Use the app for access, not proof. If neither official interface shows the image you want, ask LPSO Records whether a releasable booking photograph exists. Never swap a missing official image for a face from an unofficial site.
Confirm a Lafayette Arrest
No match does not end the search. First, drop the Recent Bookings filter. Then search the full current LPCC list. LPCC staff at 337-236-5400 can confirm current booking information. For a formal record, call the LPSO Records Division at 337-236-5845, email recordsrequest@lafayettesheriff.com, and give the person's name, approximate date, arresting agency, and booking number if known.
The Lafayette Parish Police Blotter answers a different need. Its dated LPSO reports catch arrest activity after the fast filter rolls forward. For release or transfer notice on one person, use the VINELink custody route in the navigation. VINE tracks custody events, not completed LPCC booking.

Some records never appear online. Ask for them anyway. An official booking record or image can come through a records request to LPSO. Ask whether the item exists, is releasable, and what reproduction charge applies; the published materials list no booking-photo fee or fixed turnaround. Precision matters here. A narrow booking record can be open while investigative supplements, witness statements, protected juvenile material, or confidential source information stays withheld. A Daily Booking Report asks a different question. It shows arrest activity, not current custody. Give Records the arrest date, agency, and booking number, and the right series is easy to find.
